Wrap-Up

On the previous pages we have shown you 24 of the 800 exercises in the book. There are still another 776 exercises in the book that you haven't seen here!

To give you a better idea of the coverage in the book, here's a breakdown of the number of exercises presented here versus what's in the book. We break the numbers down by the length of the variations that you are asked to visualize.

Table 1. Number of Exercises Broken Down by Length (Ply).

4 Ply 5-6 Ply 7-8 Ply 9-10 Ply 11+ Ply Total
Website: 0 5 6 8 5 20
Book: 16 157 248 198 181 800

Explanation of the Table. This website contains a total of 20 exercises -- five exercises have variations that are 5-6 half-moves (ply) long, six are 7-8 ply, eight are 9-10 ply, and five are 11 ply or longer. The book contains a total of 800 exercises -16 have variations that are 4 ply long, 157 are 5-6 ply, 248 are 7-8 ply, 198 are 9-10 ply, and 181 are 11 ply or longer.

As you go through the 800 exercises in the book, your vision will not only deepen as the length of the variations increases, but will also stretch as the exercises expand your vision from one to two to three and more sectors of the board.
